New painting
This is the very beginning of my latest painting. She will have lots of surprises lurking in her big hair. I'm loving the glazing technique I just learned... It's really helping me not go too dark too soon and retain the wood grain.
This is the (very little) progress I've made on this painting. I added some roots to her back, realized it was overkill, and spent quite a bit of time sanding it back down....grrrr!

Painting Class, Experiments
I've decided to start posting again after a long stretch of not producing any work. (This usually happens in the winter months as I burrow into my bed and wait for spring). I started taking a Mixed Media Watercolor Painting class with Amie Oliver through the Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies Program. This has really gotten me motivated to start trying to work again. I had many failed experiments, but finally started getting inspired. Same subject matter (Portraits/Nature) but trying out a new style.
